Blockbuster Week

Michael Jackson, the King of Pop, passed away today at age 50.

I love his music so much, Billie Jean, I Just Can't Stop Loving You, Rock With You, Man in the Mirror, Girl is Mine are such great and powerful songs that I regularly listen to here in my room. So sad losing this guy.

Amid all the controversies, I like this guy. I'm a big fan of his music.

There will never be another Michael Jackson.

Shortstop to sports as this entry should be it for. Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto on Nov 14? No better alternative. Good fight both talent- and showmanship-wise. Early predictions? Well, Bob Arum is the sure winner here. Hehehe.

The NBA draft is over. As believed, Blake Griffin went number 1. LA Clippers need to do a lot of household cleaning to give way to this young but very talented man. So, who will go? Marcus Camby is I believe will be thrown out off Los Angeles. Zach Randolf will be moved but it will take time. His salary is way above for other teams. And I just hope Baron Davis would act as a true veteran and be a role model.

The power has shifted. After the Bulls domination of the 90's, the NBA story has been like whoever-wins-the-West wins-the-NBA thing. Mediocre teams from the East challenging the LA Lakers of Shaq and Kobe as well as Spurs of Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili.

Shaq and Carter will be play-off relevant again

Shaq is back in the East and will play alongside King James and then as the Cavs improved their firepower, the Magics, the defending East champs, just added Vince Carter.

What can Shaq do to Cavs? Playoff composure? Experience? Well, him playing with King James will be a sold-out every night. And this is also a good move by the Cavs organization, letting Lebron James know that they want to win now and not going anywhere when 2010 comes. As for the Magics, Vince Carter is a very valuable addition. No worries if ever Hedo Turkuglo leaves for free agency. And I believe at Carter's career, he badly wants to win one. He is basically what Orlando needs. A slashing guy with a consistent perimeter jumpshot and off loading Howard during close games.

Well, the Spurs also bolstered their line-up by adding Richard Jefferson. An insurance in case Manu will be playing against his health again next season.

That was just some big names moving in the NBA. Wait and see till the free agency starts July 1st. There are other rumors that Tracy McGrady, Amare Stoudamire as well as Chris Bosh will be changing address come fall.
